Biography of Richard Henneberg

Richard Henneberg was the brother of the physician Bruno Henneberg (born 1858). He spent his student time in Tübingen, Munich, Kiel, and Berlin. He obtained his medical doctorate at Berlin in 1893, the same year as Alfred Bielschowsky (1871-1940), with whom he worked.

He was then assistant and head physician at the psychiatric and nerve clinic at the Berlin Charité. He was habilitated for psychiatry and neurology in 1902, becoming titular professor 1906, and professor extraordinary in 1921. His work concerns diseases of the spinal marrow, neurofibromatosis, aphasia, the laws regarding lunatics (Irrengesetzgebung), spiritismus, mental disturbances, etc.
