Biography of Friedrich Bezold

Friedrich Bezold visited the three Bavarian universities, as well as Vienna, and Berlin. He received his doctorate in 1866 and from 1877 worked as associate professor – Privatdozent – at the University of Munich. He published extensively in his special field. He is particularly remembered for his hearing tests using a tuning fork, and for his work to improve education for people with impaired hearing. At his death he was Hofrat and extraordinary professor in Munich.
